North West Shares Details About New Album
North West shared details about her up-and-coming album in her first-ever live interview. Over the weekend, she was interviewed by young reporter Jazlyn, aka Jazzy, during Rolling Loud.
Jazzy asked North what fans should expect from the album, to which North replied, “It’s going to be great.”
“When is [the album] going to drop?” Jazzy asked.
“Like … I don’t know,” North responded.
Lastly, North asked if her father, Kanye West, would be featured on the album.
North responded with a smile, “Maybe, we don’t know yet!”
Jazzy posted the video to her Instagram with the caption, “#NorthWest talks about her new album & collabs to expect [music notes emojis],” Jazzy wrote in the caption adding, “Thank you Ms. @kimkardashian for helping out 💕 📍 @rollingloud.”
North West Announces New Album
North made the announcement herself during a Vultures listening party on March 10, according to a fan’s video on social media.
“And I’ve been working on an album,” she shared. “And it’s called Elementary School Dropout.”

The project’s title pays homage to Kanye’s 2004 debut album The College Dropout. According to Laboy, North is featuring her friends on the project and records at least ten freestyles a day.
While the 10-year-old’s first project is brewing, she has already made history in the music industry. She is the youngest artist to ever appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for her feature in Ye’s “Talking” on Vultures. The song debuted at No. 30 on the Hot 100. She is also the youngest to ever appear on the Billboard’s Emerging Artist chart as well.
It’s not a surprise that North would want to go into music like her Grammy-winning father. In her first cover story from i-D magazine last year, she spoke about her future ambitions.
“When I’m, like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive,” she told the publication. “So, a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell.”
