Cardi B Shares She’s Working With Shakira On New Song
Cardi B has new music on the way and revealed that she has an iconic feature on her next single. The Bronx native revealed while in conversations with Million Dollaz Worth of Game that she has partnered up with Shakira.
“I always wanted to do a record with Shakira, and it’s like, wow, it landed on my lap,” she says at the 48:48 mark. “It really landed on my lap, so I got a record coming out with her next week.”
She then added that she first connected with Shakira during Paris Fashion Week. Cardi told Shakira that her sister Hennessy performed one of Shakira’s songs in a first-grade talent show and won. The Bronx native told the Colombian superstar that “you’re a part of my life” because of that moment. The story must have gone over well because Cardi followed up by saying that her team reached out to her after the two initial meetings.
Cardi B Releases “Like What” and “Enough (Miami)”
Cardi has been on a roll with her releases of “Like What” and “Enough (Miami).” “Like What,” was released earlier this month and samples Missy Elliott‘s 1999 classic “She’s A Bitch.” At the end of the music video, directed by Offset, a message that reads, “This is just the beginning… stay tuned.”
Last Friday, she dropped “Enough (Miami).”
“God gave it to me, so I gotta pop it/ I’m standing on business, I’m really about it/ Bitches be talkin’, mouth be bigger than they pockets/ Girl, tell me about it,” she rapped. “I’m litty, I’m pretty, I’m runnin’ the city/ I’m s——’ on bitches in every department/ This a– heavy and thick like peanut butter and bitches jelly about it.”
In the music video directed by Patience Harding, the Bronx native changes her outfit as she spits her braggadocio-filled bars.
The rapper also appears on Flo Milli’s viral “Never Lose Me” with SZA.
At this time, the Shakira feature does not have a title or release date.
