Police on The Lookout For Distracted Drivers This Month
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and police are keeping their eyes peeled for drivers on their phones or otherwise not paying attention to the road.
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. And you know, they put that law about being on your cell phone while driving into effect here in Michigan last year.
Well, throughout the month, the cops are going to be on the streets enforcing the law. So, make sure that you’re hands-off. They say Michigan there were almost 16,000 confirmed crashes involving a distracted driver in 2022. And it could be even higher than that because it’s hard to determine whether a distraction was a factor in a crash.
So, just a reminder that if you violate the distracted driving law, the first ticket is $100, the second offense is $250, and the third offense within a three-year period means you’ll have to complete a driving improvement course. Avoid all that and keep your hands on the wheel. Learn more at this link.
