You Could Perform at Arts, Beats & Eats
Arts, Beats & Eats is looking for musicians that are interested in performing at this year’s event that happens every Labor Day weekend in Royal Oak.
You do have to make a submission online and you have to have at least 60-minutes worth of live music that you can play at the fest. The application also requires 3 song samples and a link to a live performance.
The deadline was supposed to be April 1st, but good news for you. They’ve extended it to May 1st. So, get your stuff out there. It’s great exposure. Learn more and put in your application at this link.
Eminem Calling For “Stans” to Be Part of His New Documentary
We told you a couple of months ago that Eminem is going to be releasing a documentary later this year called “Stans“. It’s about the peak of his career and the frenzied, obsessed fans around it.
Yesterday he posted on his social media and issued an open call, if you will, for his social media followers to fill out a questionnaire that’s going to be used in the documentary. The form consists of questions such as, “What are some things in your life that you’ve accomplished thanks to Eminem and his music?”
They asked if you remember when Eminem took a break from touring and releasing albums and how it impacted you? And another question was, “Have you ever met Eminem? Upload a picture.” I’m like, nobody’s ever met Eminem. What are you talking about? Nobody ever has met him. He lies low.
You have to also upload a one minute video about why you’re a super fan. I’m sure that will be used in the documentary for sure. I think it’s like a 27-question thing, including a video. If you’re interested in participating, here’s the link.
Dame Dash Wants to Find Local Midwest Talent
Dame Dash, who started Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z, announced that he has created a new division to his BluRoc record label called BluRoc Indy. It’s a division of the label in Indiana.
He revealed that he’s in talks to establish a presence in the Midwest that will operate with a focus on promoting local talent and cultivating a vibrant music scene.
Now, I saw a post yesterday that he’s also starting one here in Detroit, but I cannot confirm that beyond the graphic I saw online. But if he is really trying to establish something in the Midwest, I mean, he’s gotta come to Detroit. Be sure to check back for more info when it becomes available.
