Documentary About Celine Dion’s Health Struggle Streaming This Month
As we talked about in Shannon’s Scoop this morning, fans will soon get a glimpse into Celine Dion’s struggles with her health.
Celine Dion first announced her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in December of 2022, which led her to take a step back from her performing career to focus on her health.
Yesterday, she took to Instagram and posted some behind-the-scenes, raw pictures of her upcoming documentary that’s going to be released.
They say it will give us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstar struggle with the life-altering illness, Stiff Person Syndrome.
“Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspirational documentary highlights the music that has guided her life, while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.”
Stiff Person Syndrome Can Have a Huge Impact on Your Well Being
Stiff Person Syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time. Similar to other autoimmune conditions, SPS affects more women than men. Although there is no cure yet that makes Stiff Person Syndrome go away, treatment can help minimize the severity of symptoms and improve quality of life.
The last time we saw Celine was back in February when she made a very rare public appearance at the Grammy Awards show. Celine told the audience, “I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart. Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”
The documentary, titled, “I Am: Céline Dion”, will be released June 25th on Amazon Prime. You can read more at this link.
