East Warren Public Market: A New Community Hub in Detroit
As mentioned in today’s Shannon’s Scoop, something big is coming for one Detroit community!
The city of Detroit has embarked on an exciting new project with the groundbreaking of the East Warren Public Market. This 10,000 square foot building promises to be a vibrant community hub, featuring a variety of amenities including a small grocery market, retail spaces for vendors and budding entrepreneurs, a community gathering space, and a farmer’s market. Additionally, it will house the offices of the East Warren Development Corporation, marking the second phase of neighborhood development.
Who will have access to use Community Spaces at East Warren Public Market
The first phase involved transforming the iconic former Pizza Hut next door into a commercial kitchen space for food-based businesses. This initiative aims to attract residents and vendors from across Detroit, increase traffic along the corridor, and boost the local economy. The community spaces within the building will be accessible to residents from the Morningside, East English Village, and Cornerstone Village neighborhoods, fostering a sense of community and engagement. The project is eagerly anticipated and is expected to make a significant positive impact on the area.
