I have to admit, I’m not much of a baseball fan, but the excitement is hard to ignore when it comes to the Detroit Tigers’ recent news. For the first time in ten years, the Tigers have a chance to make it to the playoffs. That's right—Detroit could see its first playoff game in a decade, and the buzz is real.
To celebrate, the Tigers are hosting a Wildcard Watch Party at Comerica Park tomorrow as they face the Houston Astros. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:32 PM, so if you’re planning to watch, you might want to take the day off. Honestly, with the Detroit Lions playing Monday Night Football tonight, it’s likely some people will be calling in sick anyway.
So, head down to Comerica Park for the viewing party on their brand-new 15,000 square foot video board. Let's just hope the 80% chance of rain holds off until the evening so that the party can go off without a hitch.
How To Get Tickets to the Detroit Tigers Watch Party
You can register for the watch party by visiting tigers.com/postseason. Tickets cost just $5, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Detroit Tigers Foundation. It's a great way to enjoy the game while supporting a good cause. So if you’re free, head out and support the Tigers! Let's hope they bring the energy to make this a successful playoff run!

It’s World Vegan Month. Great Metro Detroit Vegan Restaurants
Every November, people around the world celebrate World Vegan Month. But what exactly is veganism? And why should we care about it? Let's take a closer look. Plus, I've shared some great Metro Detroit vegan restaurants for you to check out below.
What is veganism?
Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. - The Vegan Society
In other words, vegans try to avoid using or consuming any products that come from animals. This includes things like meat, dairy, eggs, honey, leather, wool, silk, and cosmetics that have been tested on animals. Some vegans also avoid using products that contain animal-derived ingredients, such as sugar that has been whitened with bone char or certain types of alcohol that are filtered with fish bladders.
Why go vegan?
There are many reasons why someone might choose to go vegan. For some people, it's a ethical decision based on the belief that all animals deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. For others, it's a health decision. Still others do it for environmental reasons. Or sometimes it's a combination of all three! Whatever the reason, more and more people are choosing to ditch animal products in favor of vegan alternatives.
What about World Vegan Month?
World Vegan Month is an annual event that celebrates veganism and raises awareness of the many benefits of a vegan lifestyle. It was founded by Louise Wallis in 1994 and is now celebrated in over 50 countries around the world. So whether you're already vegan or just curious about what it's all about, take some time this November to learn more about veganism and how you can make compassionate choices for animals, your health, and the planet!
