It's finally happening, as many probably predicted. Pras is suing Lauryn Hill for fraud and breach of contract. He claims that Lauryn's behavior cost the group millions of dollars due to her alleged "narcissistic and egotistical ways."

Why Pras Is Suing Lauryn Hill

According to Pras, the tour was supposed to start in November of last year but was abruptly canceled, with Lauryn citing health issues as the reason. Pras claims that she mishandled funds for the tour on purpose, suggesting it was a devious attempt to make a profit for herself. He also alleges that Lauryn was set to receive 40% of the tour's profits, while the other members were only getting 20%. He now faces a $1 million legal bill from an unrelated case and claims that Lauryn's actions caused him to miss out on a $5 million deal to perform at Coachella. Reportedly, Lauryn was upset that the band No Doubt was billed above the Fugees, so she turned down the deal.

Pras also claims he wasn't informed about the canceled Coachella deal until Lauryn later asked him to perform for free during her set at the event. Imagine someone costing you millions and then asking you to perform for free!

In response, Lauryn posted on her page that the original tour was intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her album, and whether or not it included the Fugees was up in the air. According to her, the tour expanded to include the Fugees when she learned about Pras's legal troubles and his need for money to aid his defense. She stated that Pras received a $3 million advance for the tour to pay his legal fees, and she and the others deferred their own advances to support him.

Lauryn also mentioned that she covered the costs of the band, production, and other elements that had already been set up before the Fugees were officially included in the tour. So, it's a real "he said, she said" situation at this point.

Lauryn's side of the story is that she was doing Pras a favor because of his legal troubles and wanted to ensure he could perform and make money. We'll see how this plays out in court, but it’s certainly a dramatic situation.

As Kat Williams once said, "2024 is the year of truth," and he wasn't lying. We'll see how it all unravels.
