Halloween in the D: Family-Friendly Fun at Police Precincts and Community Centers
As mentioned in Shannon’s Scoop today, Halloween in the D is back!
Detroit continues its Halloween tradition with “Halloween in the D,” offering plenty of safe, family-friendly activities for the community. On October 31st, multiple Detroit Police precincts (from the 2nd through the 12th) will host Trunk-or-Treat events. These precincts, along with fire engine houses, will provide a safe, festive way for kids to collect candy. Each precinct has its own schedule, which is listed below. Families can stop by their nearest location to join in the fun.
Detroit Police Precinct Trunk-or-Treat Locations:
• 2nd Precinct: Adams Butzel Complex, 10500 Lyndon, 5-7 p.m.
• 3rd Precinct: 2875 W. Grand Blvd. (rear parking lot), 4-7 p.m.
• 4th Precinct: Patton Recreation Center, 2301 Woodmere, 4-7 p.m.
• 5th Precinct: 3500 Conner St., 4-8 p.m.
• 6th Precinct: 11450 Warwick, 5-7 p.m.
• 7th Precinct: 3501 Chene, 5-7 p.m.
• 8th Precinct: 21555 W. McNichols Rd., 5-7 p.m.
• 9th Precinct: 11187 Gratiot, 5-7 p.m.
• 10th Precinct: 12000 Livernois, 5-7 p.m.
• 11th Precinct: 5100 Nevada, 5-7 p.m.
• 12th Precinct: 1441 W. Seven Mile Rd., 4-8 p.m.

Community recreation centers across Detroit will also get into the Halloween spirit, with activities such as haunted houses, carnival games, face painting, and more. Last year, Detroit’s Halloween festivities distributed over one million pieces of candy to kids citywide, ensuring a memorable night. However, parents are encouraged to limit candy intake to avoid sugar-fueled energy bursts.
