Rapper GloRilla is facing felony drug charges following a burglary at her home near Atlanta early Saturday morning, according to WSB-TV and TMZ. Hours later, she performed at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
According to multiple reports, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to the property owned by the rapper, whose legal name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. Investigators said three suspects entered the home while Woods was away and were robbing it when someone inside fired at them. The burglars fled and are not believed to have been injured.
While searching the home, authorities said they smelled drugs and later found a “significant amount of marijuana” in a bedroom closet. Woods was not home at the time but was later charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance—both felonies.
Despite the incident, GloRilla appeared that same night in Indianapolis, performing a medley of her songs “Let Her Cook,” “Typa,” and “TGIF” during the halftime show at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
She surrendered to authorities at the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday and was released shortly after on $22,260 bond.
“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” Sheriff Ron Freeman told WSB-TV. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
This isn’t Woods’ first legal issue in Georgia. She was arrested on DUI charges just over a year ago in Gwinnett County.
