The Detroit Zoo glows with millions of LED bulbs. Themed zones include the Enchanted Rainforest and Field of Lights. Over 500 illuminated animal and nature figures appear at the Royal Oak site.
Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village transforms 80 acres in Dearborn into a spectacle of lights, music, and seasonal traditions. The Wayne County Lightfest sprawls across a five-mile stretch of Hines Park, boasting nearly 50 animated themed exhibits and upwards of 100,000 bulbs.
Drive-through options abound. Magic of Lights at Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston uses LED tech and moving images. Camp Dearborn in Milford presents MI Bright Lights, where thousands of lights blink in time to seasonal music. Nite Lites at Michigan International Speedway brings animated scenes and a train ride.
Walking experiences await at several spots. Blossom Heath Park in St. Clair Shores has sidewalks lined with a tunnel of Christmas lights. Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores provides walking routes with live carolers performing. Canterbury Village in Lake Orion features holiday exhibits with live characters and a visit with Santa.
Potter Park Zoo in Lansing offers lit pathways. Glenlore Trails in Commerce Township provides an interactive experience where visitors help Winter Wizards push back "the gloom" that threatens the holiday spirit.
Meadow Brook in Rochester hosts an outdoor light show, while downtown Rochester features The Big, Bright Light Show with more than 1 million points of light covering buildings along Main Street. HollyDazzle in Holly has a three-quarter-mile outdoor trail displaying over a dozen Christmas scenes.
Most exhibits will stay open through late December. Select shows extend into the new year. Dates, times, and ticket information vary by location.
