October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual movement that spotlights a disease that affects more than 200,000 women a year. Early detection is not only the most important step, but when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%.

Karmanos

Over the past three decades, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) campaign has united communities, companies, and individuals and has grown into the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement.These 3- to 5-mile noncompetitive walks provide a supportive community for courageous breast cancer survivors and people living with metastatic breast cancer, caregivers, and families alike.
The Pink List
The Pink List is a nonprofit organization that not only provides resources to families affected by breast cancer, but also raises awareness around breast cancer. The organization also aims to bridge the gap between breast cancer awareness and young adults through educating and empowering young adults to become proactive in preventing breast cancer.
