Are you single and looking to mingle and maybe find something more in Michigan? If so, there are a handful of cities that are apparently the best in the state to find true love- or at least a great date.
A new study from HomeSnacks.com has determined the 10 best cities for singles in the Wolverine State. They looked at a variety of factors and crunched the numbers. “To give you the places in Michigan which are best for singles to find one another, we have to look at a handful of metrics,” HomeSnacks.com states. “Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city, and make some assumptions about what single people like.”
“We threw a lot of criteria at this one in order to get the best, most complete results possible,” they added. They also used the 2016-2020 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Michigan to look at each city in the state, paying close attention to population density; % of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better); % of households with kids; median age; and number of unmarried people in each city. They then gave each town a “Singles Score,” with the higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. They also limited the results to cities with populations over 10,000 people, which means 88 cities.
HomeSnacks.com also pointed out that according to the Pew Research Center, the number of Americans who have remained single (not married) is going up. They also stated that Michigan ranks in the top 10 when it comes to number of people over the age of 18 who aren’t married or in a serious relationship. That makes it, overall, a good state to find love. Read on for the top 25 Michigan cities for singles, and best of luck at finding true love.
By the way, Detroit came in at No. 17 on the list, so just outside the top 15.
