When it comes to any type of lottery or gambling, you have to be in it to win it. Who wants to be a millionaire, if you raised your hand, there are quite a few Michigan Lottery Instant Tickets with million dollar prizes still available. Whether you are into going to local Michigan casinos or only play the Powerball when the number gets big there is a lot of money to be made.
I looked at the remaining prizes for Michigan Lottery Instant Games and there are fourteen $10 tickets where prizes of at least a million dollar prize are available. Someone will win all of that money, that person should be you?
Last year, Michiganders spent almost $5 billion ($4.9 billion) on lottery tickets, which averages out to about $500 per person. Michigan loves scratch off tickets, Michigan Lottery Instant Games now account for half of all lottery sales, which is up from a third of sales a decade ago. Michigan ranked third of all states per capita in lottery sales, after Massachusetts ($832 per capita) and Georgia ($522 per year).
It was also the year where more money than ever was given away in prizes, with over $3.1 billion being given away to players and another $1,43 billion going to the state's education fund, which was the second most ever.
When it comes to sending money back to the state, Michigan ranks in the top ten (#6), with 28.2% of lottery sales going to the states budget. Dishing out prizes in Michigan is a different story, with 60.6% of the $5.05 billion in sales being given away to winners, which ranks near the bottom at 29th in the country.
