It's getting darker earlier & the temps are getting cooler at night so you know summer is coming to an end soon. And with that it's back to school time! Now, you may be rejoicing sending the kids back to school or you may be sad to lose that extra time with them. In either case they need to be prepared after that long break, right?
The days of sleeping in & eating whatever or whenever will be history!

Well August is National Back to School Month & Scholastic.com has put out a list of things you can do to make the switch from summer to back-to-school. I'll highlight some of those here for you!

Restart Routines

Make sure the kiddos start getting up at the time they would get up for school starting about two weeks out from the beginning of class to make the adjustment.

Go Over Ground Rules

This is the time to review where your child will do homework, how long they'll spend watching TV per day, what chores they'll have during the week, etc.

De-Stress Dressing

Let your kids choose their first day outfit. Also be sure to get the fall clothes ready & lay out the clothes the night before.

Develop a Game Plan — Together

Set up goals with your kids. Examine the prior year & decide what they can improve on, etc.

Set Up a Homework Area

Set up a homework area for your kids & make sure it is stocked with the essentials like pencils, paper etc.
