In today’s Shannon’s Scoop lets discuss part of the Motown Museum expansion unrelieved, Olivia Newton-John passes from cancer, and Nicki Minaj to be honored with a VMA Video Vanguard Award.

  Part of the long-awaited expansion of the Motown Museum complex is now complete. Phases one and two which include interactive exhibits to the state-of the art performance center were unveiled yesterday. Smokey Robinson & Otis Williams were on-hand for the unveiling. There will also be a new plaza along West Grand Boulevard that they plan to open to the public this Saturday along with food trucks and other treats. They are encouraging the public to come out & check out the progress.

  As a breast cancer survivor myself, it breaks my heart to hear these stories. Singer and actress Olivia Newton-John has died at the age of 73 after decades of battling cancer. Here’s an audio tribute of her career.

  Congratulations are in order for Nicki Minaj. Not only is she nominated and will perform at the VMA’s its been announced that she will also be honored with the VMA Video Vanguard Award. Only three other rappers have received this award including LL Cool J, Kanye West, and Missy Elliott. You can check it out live on August 28th at 8pm ET.
