5 Celebrities Who Came Back Stronger Than Ever After a Breakup
After the news that Selena Gomez and The Weeknd ended their ten-month relationship, fans wondered how the stars were faring.
Were they at their respective homes, crying into pints of ice cream and/or immediately beginning to pen breakup anthems about the other? Eh, not quite.
If you scoped out their social media, they both appear to be doing pretty well. The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) seems to be pretty caught up in dodging Stranger Things 2 spoilers (relatable) and spending some time in his hometown of Toronto.

Selena, on the other hand, is earning accolades as Billboard magazine’s 2017 Woman of the Year, and hanging out with Justin Bieber again.

All in all, not a bad week for her either.
In honor of their quite recovery from their split, here are a few other celebrities who came back from a breakup better than ever:
Gwen Stefani
Rock and roll hearts everywhere broke when Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale announced their divorce, but since then, the No Doubt frontwoman has become part of a power couple with Blake Shelton. She’s also released new music, with a Christmas album coming out, too.
Nick Lachey
Legions of dedicated fans were devastated when Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson split up, bringing an end to a blindingly beautiful couple and their guilty pleasure reality TV show Newlyweds. However, post-Jessica, Lachey recorded his single “What’s Left Of Me” which ended up being his highest charting single to date. Oh, and on the set of the video for the song, he ended up meeting Vanessa Minnillo. Today, the two are married and have three children.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez was in a five-year relationship with dancer Casper Smart, which is almost amusing to think about now that J.Rod is a thing. Lopez first began dating Alex Rodriguez, the former Yankees star, last winter, and the two have instantly shot to power couple status. In fact, they’re even on the cover of December’s Vanity Fair.
Katy Perry
She’s got a new album and a new tour, and she certainly doesn’t have time to bash her exes. When Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split, people expected the pop star to spill the dirt on what went wrong. Instead, she posted this tweet.
HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017⁉️U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one's a victim or a villain, get a life y'all!😘

Inspiring!
Lady Gaga
Her Netflix documentary gave an incredibly honest look at both the singer’s triumphs, as well as her struggles. Despite a painful breakup with actor Taylor Kinney, Gaga’s newest record went platinum. Plus, she put on an incredible performance at the Super Bowl halftime show.
These celebrities prove that it’s possible to make an incredible comeback after a breakup. While we admire their resolve, we may just stick to Ben & Jerry’s and wine. It’s a never-fail formula.
