The Parents Of Chris Watts Have Broken Their Silence
In August, the nation was shocked after Christopher Watts was arrested for killing his pregnant wife and their two daughters.
As you recall, Chris’s wife, Shanann, and the couple’s daughters, Bella and Celeste, were reported missing after Shanann’s friend could not get a hold of her.
At the time, Chris went on camera to plead for their safe return.
In the hours that followed, new details emerged that suggested Chris was having an affair and had asked to separate from his wife.
Soon after, Chris was arrested and confessed to killing Shanann, but insisted he took her life only after he witnessed her kill their daughters.
More recently, Chris plead guilty to killing all three of them. In doing so, he will not face the death penalty.
Now, in an exclusive interview with ABC 11, Watts’ parents have spoken out about the crime that shook America.
According to Chris’s mother, Chris and Shanann had a difficult marriage. Cindy said Chris was a victim of abuse and felt as though Shanann kept Chris from his family. She described Chris as being a mellow person who was not prone to anger issues, making what happened seem all the more uncharacteristic.
To this day, his parents believe his initial confession, about Shanann taking the lives of their children, is the truth.
After the interview was released, Shanann’s family also issued a statement.
Frank and Sandra Rzucek insist Chris is guilty and that Shanann was a loving and devoted mother and wife.
Shanann’s family refuted claims that she was abusive, and want to protect her memory.
Undoubtedly, many lives were shattered as a result of Shanann, Bella and Celeste’s lives being cut short.
