Jean Grae Responds To Fan Who Said ‘It’s A Shame’ She ‘Didn’t Have More Of A Career’
Jean Grae recently took to Twitter to set the record straight about her career.

A fan of Jean Grae recently tweeted to her out of concern. The fan said, “It’s quite sad and maybe something to do with the industry that only TWO female rappers are pushed, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B (who can’t rap) with Rhapsody (the best currently) in the background. And it’s a shame @JeanGreasy aka Jean Grae did not have more of a career.”
“I had 25 of successful money making, adventuring, rock star living, master class teaching, international brilliance in hip-hop. Independently, on my own terms. Now I do something else. Not everyone wants the same things the same way. I decided how to be me. I’m not a victim,” Jean Grae responded.
Prior to commenting on the tweet, Jean Grae stated on Twitter that she wanted to comment and not just reply to the tweet because her answer is “important.”

Someone then tried to call out the South African MC for being snarky by posting her comment versus just replying.

She responded with a comment and said that she gets that commentary a lot and it’s “an incredibly important point for people to know.”
Jean Grae then went on to emphasize that she had 25 successful years as an independent artist.

The “Love Thirst” rapper then continued to explain that she made her own choices and forged new paths.

Jean Grae concluded her spill by stating that although she would really love to tell her fans all the things that are coming next, she can’t. She then emphasized that it’s taken her decades to get to the point where she only does what she wants to do.
