Jamie Foxx Flubs Line, Breaks Character As George Jefferson In ‘All in the Family’ Live Special
Jamie Foxx stepped into Sherman Hensley’s shoes to play the iconic George Jefferson during ABC’s All in the Family/Jeffersons special Live in Front of a Studio Audience on Wednesday, and the Oscar winner hilariously flubbed one of his lines.

Foxx was supposed to say the insult, “Ever since I was a little boy, I would always beg my mother for a little brother. But, you know, we were broke, so all we could afford was you,” but the comedian and actor stumbled toward the end of the punchline with a stutter.
“It’s live!” Foxx said breaking his character. He then turned to the live studio audience and said, “Everyone sitting at home just think their TV just messed up.”
While Foxx regained his composure his castmates had to hold in their laughter. Anthony Anderson, who portrayed Uncle Henry smirked while trying to keep a straight face, meanwhile, Ike Barinholtz (Mike “Meathead” Stivic) and Ellie Kemper (Gloria Stivic) busted out laughing. Woody Harrelson (Archie Bunker) ended up turning his back to the camera to hide his composure.
Wanda Sykes (Louise “Weezy” Jefferson) and Marisa Tomei (Edith Bunker) remained calm throughout the entire situation.
