Birdman Says Nicki Minaj Doesn’t Get The Credit She Deserves
Birdman recently told MTV News that Nicki Minaj is underappreciated.
“Honestly, I think Nicki [Minaj] doesn’t get the credit that she deserves,” Birdman said during the interview. “You know, I come in the era where females, it was hard for them. She came and broke the chain.”
“Nicki broke the cycle for females. Nicki did more than any female artist, ever. And you had a lot of great artists before Nicki Minaj but Nicki Minaj changed the game for females,” Birdman continued.
Birdman then explained how Minaj used to be in the studio with him and about 10 other artists “every night.” “Every single night putting in the body of work to become who she became,” Birdman said.
“So I don’t think Nicki get the credit she deserves, but, you know, time tells it all. But she still, today, the biggest female in hip-hop, ever.”
“One thing they say, numbers don’t lie, and her numbers speak for themself,” Birdman concluded.
