Solange Denies Rumors That She’s Dating Common
Once again, Solange has had to set the record straight regarding her love life. The singer, who’s newly single, was the subject of romance rumors last week when she and Common were spotted at the Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact inaugural celebration at Town Hall in New York City.
A photo, which seems to be photoshopped, surfaced on social media showing Common as Solange’s date. However, the two didn’t come together to the event.
Solange took to Instagram to deny the rumors. In her own subtle way, Solange posted a screenshot of the video for David G’s 2009 track titled “Lying On Me.”
Solange’s rep also issued a statement addressing the rumors. “Solange and Common are not seeing each other. Both artists attended the Lena Horne Prize event simply to honor Lena Horne’s Legacy,” read the statement, as SOHH reported.

The “Don’t Touch My Hair” singer was honored at the Lena Horne Prize ceremony for her social activism. “From 12 years old she was an activist,” Tina Knowles-Lawson, Solange’s mother said. “She started a petition at her school to get rid of a teacher that was terrible. I was very proud of her.”
Back in November, Solange announced her split from Alan Ferguson, who she was married to for five years. “Early this year we separated and parted ways, (and tho it ain’t nan nobody business ) I find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do,” Solange wrote on Instagram.
Common sparked romance rumors with Tiffany Haddish late last year, following his breakup with attorney and political advocate Angela Rye.
