Helicopter Company Claims Kobe And Gianna Bryant Knew Flying Risks And ‘Were Negligent’

As reported, Vanessa Bryant is suing Island Express (the helicopter company) and pilot for wrongful death of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant. Now the company is hitting back with some shocking claims.According to TMZ, Island Express claims that Kobe and Gianna knew flying in a helicopter could result in an accident, so Vanessa Bryant has no case. In legal documents, it says, “Kobe Bryant and GB had actual knowledge of all of the circumstances, particular dangers, and an appreciation of the risks involved and the magnitude thereof, and proceeded to encounter a known risk, and voluntarily assumed the risk of the accident, injury … thereby barring or reducing [Vanessa’s] claim for damages.”

The company points out that they are not responsible for the crash because “it was an Act of God.”  In the documents, it says the passengers were negligent and the crash was “an unavoidable accident.” TMZ lastly adds, “Island Express says helicopter flying is ‘inherently dangerous’ and someone like the pilot should have told them, but it’s not the company’s responsibility.”
