Unfortunately, his idea won’t be getting him out of trouble this time. It turns out, surveillance cameras can catch more than petty criminals! They can also bust you. While he might not go to jail over this, he might be confined to the cell that is his bedroom for a while!

It sounds like this happened in Stockport, England where the young man lives with his parents and siblings. According to Stockport Nub News, the 20-year-old was told to be home around midnight because he was supposed to join his father at work starting at 7am. Well, he made it home but it was a bit late around 3:48am. Being nearly 4 hours late after curfew might get you in some trouble! That can be expected.
Thankfully, for us–not him–his attempted entry into the house after curfew was caught on the family’s doorbell camera. In the video, you see him crawling on the ground thinking he’s going under the camera. Unfortunately, he wasn’t. He could be seen the entire time he’s making the attempted entry. He’s doing his best to remain small and make as little noise as possible, but it appears he wasn’t aware that the camera went all the way down to the ground. Had he known that he could have saved himself from a bit of trouble at home and embarrassment online.

The 20-year-old, who chose to be anonymous (and you can’t blame him), tells Stockport Nub News, “I was expecting to go home for 12 after closing time at the pub. But a mate of mine was having a few friends back at his and I just couldn’t say no.” Understandable, we’ve all been there. Going home would have been the right thing to do but you can’t turn down a fun night when you’re 20!
It sounds like his parents are now having some fun with it. The young man tells Stockport Nub News, “I’m pretty sure my dad will have opened the door of my bedroom, smelled the beer and just left me to it. My mum then posted a screenshot of me crawling saying we’d had an attempted burglary. I knew she was joking and once we spoke she was able to see the humour in the situation.” Now, he’s the joke of his family’s group chat and the internet alike.
