Tamar Braxton Asks Court For ‘Status Only’ Divorce
Tamar Braxton wants to be a single woman as soon as possible.
The R&B singer and reality TV star asked a judge to declare her single while her estranged husband, Vincent Herbert works on the details of their split, as The Blast reported.
Braxton asked the court for a “status only” divorce, meaning she and Herbert would be legally single, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
Braxton and Herbert still have to work out spousal support and custody issues, but the “Love and War” singer has made it clear in her court documents that the marriage is irrepairable.
“Petitioner seeks a dissolution of her marriage with Respondent based on irreconcilable differences. Petitioner believes there is nothing the Court can do to salvage or repair the marriage,” the court document states.
The reality TV star has been wanting to end her marriage for a while now. Last fall, Braxton asked a judge to grant her a default judgement in her divorce because Herbert wouldn’t respond to her petition for a divorce.
Braxton served Herbert on September 6, 2018 and the music executive was given 30 days to respond in court.
Herbert failed to show up or file court documents within the deadline. Hence Braxton asking the judge to grant her default judgement.
Braxton, who now has a new boyfriend that she’s finally gone public with filed for divorce from Herbert back in October 2017.
The two were married for nine years.
