Canada Grants Gucci Mane Temporary Resident Permit To Play 10 Shows
Canada is welcoming Gucci Mane with open arms.
The country, known for having a long-term policy that denies entry to former felons, has granted the “Lemonade” rapper a temporary resident permit to enter Canada later this month, according to TMZ.
Gucci Mane is slated to perform at ten scheduled shows across five Canadian provinces. Guwop was able to get into Canada with the help of an immigration attorney.
In 2016, Gucci Mane rapped, “I got so many felonies I might can’t never go to Canada, but Drake said he gon’ pull some strings, so let me check my calendar,” on his track “Both” featuring Drake.
Gucci Mane is no stranger to run-ins with the law. In 2005, the Atlanta rapper was arrested in Miami for assault and in 2013 Gucci Mane violated his probation by carrying a gun, and served 39 months before he was released in 2016.
The Wopster seems to have cleaned up his act, though. The tour kicks off on May 15 at the Halifax Forum MPC and concludes at the Burton Cummings Theatre on May 31. The “Wake Up in the Sky” rapper will be joined by August Alsina, Peter Jackson, and Merkules.

At the beginning of the month, Merkules also confirmed the news in a tweet. “We just got the paperwork back confirming 100 percent that Gucci Mane’s permit has been approved to enter Canada! I’m on tour with him all month so get your tickets now!!!!,” he wrote.
G-Eazy, Chris Brown, and Kodak Black have all been turned away by the Canadian border patrol due to their criminal pasts.
