It’s National Pizza Month! 10 Great Metro Detroit Pizza Spots

Metro Detroit is well-known for its delicious pizza, and October is the perfect time to enjoy it. That’s because October is National Pizza Month, and there’s no better place to celebrate than Metro Detroit. We are home to some of the best pizza in the country, and our signature Detroit-style pizza is a must-try. This thick, chewy pizza is baked in a square pan and topped with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. It’s the perfect comfort food for a chilly fall day or any day let’s be honest!

Metro Detroit is home to some of the best pizzerias in the country. In honor of National Pizza Month, here are ten great pizza spots in Metro Detroit. Now these are just a few so whether you’re a local or just passing through, be sure to check out one (or all!) of these great places.

  • Buddy's Pizza

    Buddy’s Pizza is a Detroit institution, and for good reason. The pizzas here are some of the best in the city, with a perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and crust. The Original Detroit-Style pizza is the must-try here, but the deep dish and thin crust pizzas are also excellent. They have multiple locations across Metro Detroit and you can view the list here.

  • Loui's Pizza

    Loui’s Pizza is another Detroit classic, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in town. The pizzas here are thin and crispy, with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The pepperoni pizza is the most popular choice, but there are plenty of other great options to choose from. Grab a slice at 23141 Dequindre Rd in Hazel Park.

  • Cloverleaf Pizza

     

    Cloverleaf Pizza is a great spot for those who like their pizza on the thinner side. The crust is nice and crispy, and the toppings are always fresh. The veggie pizza is my personal favorite, but there are plenty of other great options to choose from. They have a ton of locations across Metro Detroit and you can view those here.

  • Niki's Pizza

    Niki’s Pizza is another excellent spot for thin crust pizza lovers. The pies here are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. There are plenty of great options to choose from. They are located Downtown at 735 Beaubien Blvd in Detroit. 

  • Mario's Pizza

    Mario’s Pizza is yet another great spot for pizza lovers. Grab a slice at 4222 2nd Ave in Detroit.

  • Supino Pizzeria

    Now Supino Pizzeria may be my favorite pizza spot ever in Metro Detroit. They expanded just a few years ago and they needed to because it is a very popular spot for pizza. You can check them out in Eastern Market Downtown!

  • Green Lantern Pizzeria

    Green Lantern is the self-proclaimed King of Pepperoni! They’ve been serving the best pizza in the Detroit Metro area since 1955! They have multiple locations across Metro Detroit and you can view the list here

  • Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery

    Stop by and grab a slice at this popular pizzeria! They are located at 441 W Canfield St #9 in Detroit! 

  • Roma Pizzeria & Restaurant

    Ooh! One of my personal favorites Downriver! They have a sweet sauce and a thick crust and it is so good! Last time i was there they still only took cash as payment so be prepared! But it is worth it. You can visit them on Eureka Road in Southgate!

  • Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizzeria & Deli

    Located inside The Garden Bowl, Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizzeria & Deli serves specialty Pizzas, Calzones, Stromboli and late night bites. Check them out on Woodward in Downtown Detroit.
