Two Michigan graduate programs are among the best in the entire U.S., according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 edition of Best Graduate Schools, even scoring the top honor in some areas. The new rankings were released March 29.

Each year, U.S. News ranks six professional school programs and specialties in various areas, including business, education, engineering, law, nursing and medicine. As for the other schools and disciplines — such as the sciences, health, humanities and more — those are ranked periodically.

So, which Michigan schools are on top? Michigan and Michigan State both ranked extremely high on the tally, and both schools actually scored some No. 1 showings. Read on for the full list of programs that Michigan and Michigan State topped in the study. It’s a diverse list, from education to engineering to health. I went to Michigan State, so I’m really happy to see the school getting respect in various academic disciplines. It’s great to see Michigan so high on the list, too. One benefit to living in Michigan is that we have two major universities right here, both of which are nationally acclaimed. That’s not to mention all the other great colleges in Michigan, including Central Michigan University, Western Michigan and more.
