About

Kayla is the midday host on Detroit’s 105.1 The Bounce. She started in radio back in 2016 as an intern and worked my way here. She’s done almost everything in radio from promotions to web, creating content on social media, you name it.

She’s a true Michigander, born and raised. So, you can catch her camping, vacationing up north, exploring downtown Detroit, or maybe even catching a sports game. She and her husband together dip into many of the great things Michigan has to offer. In general, she just loves to travel. Some of her favorite places include New Orleans, San Fransisco, Italy, and Greece.

A few hobbies of mine include wine and beer tastings, crafting, hiking, roller skating, movies (old films & musicals), home improvement projects, over-sharing memes, and pug videos on social media (One day she’ll get her pug), gardening, baking, and festivals. The Detroit Movement (DEMF) is one festival that’s close to my heart because of my love for Detroit techno and house.

Kayla loves to take something simple and make it spectacular. Whether it’s editing pictures, video/ audio, or her ambitious DIY projects.

Kayla’s been a part of several events and fundraisers in the city like the Michigan State Fair, the bridal expo, prom dress giveaways, to movie premieres. She’s always looking to take on more local events happening in the community and discovering those local best-kept secrets.

When living in Knoxville she had a chance to grace the radio airwaves and get involved with charity work with Children’s Hospital of East Tennessee, Dollywood community events, broadcast from Omaha’s College World Series, and more.

She loves connecting with the community. When writing, Kayla covers topics including lifestyle, pop culture, trending stories, hacks, and urban culture.
