DMX’s Official Cause of Death Detailed in New Report
On September 20, 2019, it was officially announced that DMX had signed a new record deal with Def Jam, reuniting with the label for the first time since his 2003 album <em>Grand Champ</em>.
Sad stuff as a new report confirms what many thought was true about how DMX passed.
It was determined he died from a cocaine-induced heart attack. The heart attack resulted in a lack of blood circulation to his brain. An autopsy was not performed by the medical examiners office. The cause of death was determined using documentation provided by medical officials and law enforcement authorities.
According to The Source, “It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain,” said a medical examiner’s office rep, who also added X’s regular cocaine use ultimately leading up to his death.
