Megan Thee Stallion Brings Cardi B To NYC
During Tuesday night’s (May 21) performance in New York City, Meg brought Bronx native Cardi out as a surprise guest during the sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. GloRilla joined the two on stage, and later in the night, the “Tomorrow 2” artist announced that Cardi was going to be featured on the remix of “Wanna Be.”
Meg has worked with Cardi on the controversial yet popular track “WAP.” Cardi and Meg performed the 2020 track during the NYC tour stop. Meg and Cardi reunited in 2023 when they collaborated on “Bongos.” Meanwhile, Glo and Cardi, who happen to be cousins, have worked together on Glo’s “Tomorrow” and “Tomorrow 2.”
Sharing snaps of the three powerhouses of women in hip-hop, Meg took to Instagram. She captioned the carousel of photos: “We had a timeeee last night lol [sobbing emoji].” Fans were hyped about the surprise and shared their excitement in the comments section. One wrote, “Telling my kids these were the power puff girls.” Another fan urged, “Ok now!!! WE NEED A SONG WITH ALL THREE OF YALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 QUEENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” A third fan said, “Seeing the three of you on stage together last night still feels like a fever dream [sobbing emojis].” One fan joked, “Drake Kendrick and Cole not the big 3 nomo [laughing emojis].” Meanwhile, another fan praised, “This what women empowerment look like.”
Ahead of the sold-out show at MSG, Meg got sentimental. She wrote in her caption: “Hotties I am really back here tearing up [teary smiling emoji] We really got a SOLD OUT show at the most famous arena in the world [head explosion emoji] @thegarden like huhhh??? NYC hotties lets have a BLAST TONIGHT [fire emojis] I LOVE YALL.”
The following day, the Houston native shared the feat on her Stories, with an article from Rolling Stone magazine reporting that her NYC stop made her “the first independent woman rapper to headline at the world’s greatest arena.”
As for Cardi joining Meg on stage, the artist is gearing up to drop her second studio album sometime this year. While the album name and release date is still unknown, Cardi said that the sound will be “so different from what everyone is expecting and I’m sooo excited.”
