This Emoji is Causing Outrage All Over the Internet

Emojis are the perfect way to add a little flair and feeling to your text message.

If you’re feeling sassy, add the salsa dancing girl. If you’re feeling loopy, add the upside down smiley face. Suddenly, your friends truly understand your thoughts, even if they’re just reading them as they come across a screen. However, emojis can also become a major point of contention.

For instance, Google recently came under fire after releasing a cheeseburger emoji featuring the cheese laying atop the bottom bun, underneath the patty.

Thomas Baekdal on Twitter

I think we need to have a discussion about how Google's burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top

Fans instantly began to question the look of the emoji, especially when compared to Apple’s version, which featured the cheese on top of the burger patty, as most people are accustomed to eating the food. In fact, the emoji caused such a stir that Google’s CEO sent out a tweet saying he would drop everything to correct the problem.

Sundar Pichai on Twitter

Will drop everything else we are doing and address on Monday:) if folks can agree on the correct way to do this! https://t.co/dXRuZnX1Ag

It’s unclear when the switching of the cheese will actually be put into place, but at least we know the CEO of the company is taking the matter seriously, as he should.
