DJ Khaled is reportedly going to sue the Billboard charts for not counting 100,000 sales of his new album, Father of Asahd.

According to Page Six, the DJ and producer’s lawyers have sent a letter to Silvio Pietroluongo, SVP of charts and data development at Billboard.

Khaled was furious when he found out that Father of Asahd came in second to Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR, and he claims that Billboard discounted the sales connected to an energy drink bundle deal.

The bundle deal is a controversial music industry tactic that allows consumers to download an album and purchase merchandise, which is a strategy used to assist in increasing record sales.

When DJ Khaled’s team approached Billboard regarding appealing the discounted sales, Billboard “refused to budge,” according to a source close to Khaled.

The source claimed that the way DJ Khaled’s album was handled was unfair due to the fact that Tyler, The Creator’s bundle packages were accounted for his album sales. Last month, Billboard’s charts showed that IGOR was no. 1, with 165,000 sold. DJ Khaled’s album sold 137,000.

Many took to social media to criticize DJ Khaled, after learning the news of the lawsuit. Check out the tweets below.
