A Margherita pie is seen served at the famous Lombardi’s Pizza amid the COVID-19 pandemic on July 07, 2020 in New York, New York. In 1905, Lombardi’s Pizza was recognized as the First Pizzeria in the United States. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Lombardi’s has reopened its doors once again.
Arturo Holmes/Getty ImagesEater Detroit did an amazing article on different spots to get good cheese pizza in the D! I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that I apparently have only tried two of these spots! So now I'm on a mission to hit these spots when I'm in the mood for pizza.
The full list is here.
Here are a couple spots that came to mind:
Pizza Cat Max
"Keep Pizza Weird" can be found on the wall at Pizza Cat Max! This spot just opened in July of 2022 but offers coney pizza, hot cheetos pizza, brisket and more! It's located in Greektown!
Bigalora Cucina
I feel like I've seen this spot before considering I live in Royal Oak but never thought to stop by. You can grab a great bite plus get beer and wine favorites.
Jed’s Detroit
Originally from my home state in Ohio, they're not just known for pizza but also burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, tenders and wings.
