Okay. It’s hot. Like really hot this summer. But luckily we have amazing ways to keep cool. Like ice cream. Well, it turns out July is National Ice Cream Month, but do we really need a designated month to honor one of the greatest foods to ever grace our lips? I am certain I honor ice cream at least once a week! But as always, the hardest decision I have to make is which flavor. So many are so incredibly good that it’s hard to pick just one. In fact, sometimes I pick a few and get a scoop of each!
For me, if I had to pick just one, it would be Mackinaw Island Fudge ice cream! Vanilla ice cream with fudge swirls & chunks of Mackinaw Fudge. What could be better? It truly reminds me of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and all of the fudge shops on Mackinaw Island that I visited just a few weeks ago. My mouth is watering just typing this! Yum!
The second hardest decision is where to score a scoop of the delicious, fantastic, mouth-watering ice cream. Do you have a favorite spot? Well, The Gander has compiled a list of 50+ ice cream shops and creameries in Michigan to help you narrow down your search while you’re traveling around our state. But I have listed 15 right here in Southeast Michigan.
