On November 30, Oxford High School was struck by tragedy as a suspected 15-year-old sophomore student began shooting around the campus. 11 people were shot, 10 students and one teacher. Four of those students have passed away.

14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, 16-year-old Tate Myer, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin were the three students who lost their lives following the five-minute rampage at Oxford High School. This morning, December 1, authorities announced that a fourth student, 17-year-old Justin Schilling, passed away from his injuries at the hospital he was being treated from.

According to The Detroit News, Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the families have been assigned a deputy to remain as long as they need and “to provide the protection they deserve.”

While the families, friends, and community of these students and their school grieve so many have taken to the online space to show their love, prayers, and support. Below are different ways you and so many others can help support this grieving community at this time.

  • Oxford Strong GoFundMe

    A GoFundMe has been started by a local resident, Laura Ferguson. Donations made a meant to support the families of those who lost loved ones or those who were injured. Ferguson wrote on the GoFundMe page, “The lasting effects will forever grip our hometown, but it won’t break us. Let’s show our support for our home and donate to those who lost their loved ones today and those who were injured.”

  • Madisyn Baldwin GoFundMe

    A GoFundMe has been created by Jennifer Graves Mosqueda, the grandmother of Madisyn Baldwin, one of the students who lost their lives during this tragic event. 

    “I’m lost for words and no good at asking for help…however I’m reaching out to all of you…my friends, family and loved ones to help in anyway you can. This unbelievable tragedy could never be planned for or expected by any of us. My daughter and son-in-law would never ask for anything during this time, however I want them to be able to be with each other, their other children and family during this time without worrying about work, bills and arrangements,” wrote Mosqueda, “Thank you all.”

  • Prayer Vigil in Downtown Oxford

    This Friday, December 3, at 7pm, The Oxford Downtown Development Authority will hold a prayer vigil in downtown Oxford. The location will be announced at a later time. For more details visit Facebook.com/DowntownOxford

  • Tate Myre Stadium Petition

    Tate Myre was one of Oxford High Schools own star football linebackers. He was an honor student and is now a hero. Tate was wounded while trying to disarm the shooter.

    An online petition has been created to rename the Oxford High School Wildcat Stadium to the “Taye Myer Stadium”. This petition was started by Drake Biggie on who wrote, “Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford high school but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations, he put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School”.

  • Sick Pizza Company - Free Pizzas For Donations

    Sick Pizza Company in downtown Oxford is doing what they can to help the victims of the Oxford High School School Shooting.  They are closing down normal operations and from noon to 8pm, Thursday through Sunday(December 2 – December 5) and will be giving away pizzas for a donation with the hopes of filling several buckets with cash. They will also be using a personal Venmo for those who can’t get to the pizzeria that can be donated to. Those dollars will be transferred through Venmo to the effected families.     Scott Taylor from Sick Pizza said, “Our employees have volunteered their time and we are making the food with the hopes of collecting a ton of money for the victims families.”
      Tom Bailey and Scott Taylor are lifetime residents of Orion and this was the best way they could think of for them and their local business to help. “No phone or online orders. Our system will show that we are closed because not one dollar is going into a till but every cent will go to these kids families” said Scott.
  • Oxford High School Library & Performing Arts Center Renaming Petition

    A petition to rename the Oxford High School Library and Performing Arts Center after Hana St. Juliana and Madisyn Baldwin has been created by “Oxford Wildcats Strong” on Change.org. On the petition website it says, “ In recognition of the petition to rename Wildcat Stadium to Tate Myre stadium the lives of Hana and Madisyn shall be memorialized as well. The Oxford High School Library shall be named the “Hana St. Juliana Library” and the Oxford High School Performing Arts Center shall be renamed the “Madisyn Baldwin Performing Arts Center.”

  • Mural Petition

    Created by Benjamin Dutkiewicz, is a petition to have a mural created in the memory of the Oxford High School students who lost their lives. On the petition page Benjamin wrote, “Create a mural for the kids who have lost their lives during the Oxford High School Shooting. The kids include 16-year-old Tate Myer, 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin, 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, and 17-year-old Justin Shilling.”

  • Communicate with Authorities

    Last night in a press conference Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard emphasized the importance of sharing information with authorities.

    “We’re also hearing that there were rumors that somebody had heard or said something or knew something in advance,” he said during the press conference. “None of that came to us prior to today.
