XXXTentacion’s Album ‘?’ Goes Gold After Death
According to XXL, the RIAA has certified XXXTentacion.
“Since XXXTentacion was gunned down on June 18 in Deerfield Beach, Fla., his streaming numbers have shot through the roof. At one point in the weeks following his death, his music was up 9,000 percent in digital sales,” quotes their report.
What is interesting is the reaction to the public of new rap, who have taken to immortalizing XXXTentacion, getting tattoos of his name or lyrics, and continue posting about him, as well as keeping his streaming numbers raging.
His music video for “SAD!” was released posthumously, and had him interacting with his own corpse and was focused on death, which seems like he may have known death was coming.
