The dynamic duo of Robbie Landis and Ben Morse is back once again for another episode of the Other Identity. The Other Identity is a podcast about exploring the culture created by comic books. This week Robbie and Ben attempt to create a list ranking the live-action Batmen from worst to best. They also discuss their expectations for Robert Pattinson’s upcoming Batman movie.

Best of the Bats

Bruce Wayne and his alter ego have over 50 years of cinematic experience to draw from. In those 60 years, six men have taken up the cowl. Much like the 007 Agent James Bond, discussion of who the best and worst Batman was is a war that will never wane. Regardless of that, Ben and Robbie lay down the facts and their own opinions to decide who the best of the bats is. Who was the most forgettable? Which Bruce Wayne is worthy of being called a playboy? And where exactly does Adam West fit in when his version of the Caped Crusader came from a whole different time altogether. Download and listen to find out.

The Future of the Dark Knight

Robbie and Ben also discuss the future of the Batman cowl. Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves brought us a trailer a few months ago, despite only having shot 25% of the film. The short look we got at the film shows a younger Batman just making his mark on Gotham. The Other Identity hosts wonder if having a plot similar to Nolan’s Batman franchise is a good idea. Despite Batman Begins having debuted over 15 years ago, it’s still the last solo story told. Will The Batman be as successful or does DC risk a Batman overload?
