You Can Have a Piece of the Michigan State Breslin Scoreboard
It’s the end of an era. The longtime Michigan State University Breslin scoreboard located at the Breslin Center is going down. Pretty soon, a new one is being installed.
Don’t get too sad, though, because you can actually get a piece of the old MSU scoreboard. The four-sided video screen, which was suspended from rafters inside the Breslin Center, is heading to the MSU Surplus Store disassembled. The surplus store is known for having all kinds of old office desks and other MSU goods for sale at very low prices.
The MSU Surplus Store reposted a photo of the Breslin scoreboard on Twitter Wednesday (July 21). The tweet had the caption, “Yes, it is coming to the store…but just not in one piece. We will be sure to provide updates when available.”
As for how much the pieces of the Breslin scoreboard will cost and how many pieces will be available, they haven’t announced that information yet. But, Twitter blew up, in a good way, over the move. Plenty of people seem to be excited to buy their piece of Spartan history. So, if you want in, keep following this story. MSU first installed the scoreboard at the Breslin Student Events Center in 2011. At the time, it cost around $2 million.
