New Airline Debuting 2 Michigan Routes
Travel season is up ahead, and that means a lot of Americas will be flying. A new airline is debuting Michigan routes, so locals will have one more way to get to paradise. Even though Michigan gets toasty in the summer, since so many people have summer vacations lined up, it’s often a peak season to leave Michigan and go somewhere else.
Breeze Airlines Debuting Michigan Routes
The new airline is Breeze Airways. They started service in May 2021. They’re already a favorite, as Breeze was recently voted the No. 4 best domestic airline by Travel + Leisure magazine. For that poll, the magazine asked readers “to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe” and “to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines and more.” A whopping 165,000 readers completed the 2023 survey and cast a total of more than 685,000 votes. They loved Breeze’s cabin comfort, in-flight service, customer service and value. Currently, Breeze offers around 170 year-round and seasonal nonstop routes between 56 cities in 29 states, according to their website. They also state that they offer “nonstop service between underserved routes across the U.S. at affordable fares. With seamless booking and customized flight features, Breeze makes it easy to buy and easy to fly.”
Now, regarding the Michigan routes, Breeze Airways has announced new service from Lansing to two Florida destinations. The new Michigan routes will be from Lansing to Orlando and Fort Myers and bein in early October with twice-weekly services. It’s interesting that they’re waiting until October to launch these flights, but it makes sense that as the weather gets cooler, Michiganders will want to fly south. The flights to Orlando will be available on Wednesday at Saturday starting Oct. 2, with a one way ticket from $79, according to a release. The flights heading to Fort Myers will run on Thursday and Sunday starting Oct., with a one way ticket from $89. These prices are subject to change at any time. In addition, Breeze Airways will start flying for the season May 27 with an initial network of 16 cities.
The folks behind Breeze also recently announced a loyalty program that will offer customers the chance to purchase premium perks such as airfare and trip add-ons, seating, additional checked bags and inflight snacks. In addition to the new Michigan routes, Breeze is also adding seasonal flights to Stewart/Newburgh, New York; Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania; and Bangor, Maine. It’s great to see a new airline pop up and offer flights out of smaller cities, to help with the busy travel season.
