‘Expect Energy, Love, and Motivation’: Expectations For Ginuwine Detroit Concert with Mean Jean and Shannon Renee
This weekend legendary R&B singer, Ginuwine Detroit concert is at the Music Hall. He talked with myself and Shannon Renee from The Morning Bounce about his upcoming show. He shared his excitement about returning to a city that always showed him love and support.
“What’s up, my brother? What’s up, what’s up, what’s up? I’m looking forward to coming to Detroit, man. I haven’t been there in a while, so I’m looking forward to it. Every time I come here, I get a lot of love, so it’s all great,” Ginuwine said.
What to Expect at the Ginuwine Detroit Concert
Ginuwine said he’s been blessed to be in this business for 27 years. “What you can expect is energy, love, appreciation, and motivation for all the people that have come out and just supported. Every time I come to Detroit like I always say, it’s nothing but love. So, you know, it’s going to be a great show.”
When asked about his famous dance moves, Ginuwine laughed, “Oh, yeah, the legs don’t move as quickly as they used to, but I still got the moves.” He assured fans that he still gives 110% at every performance.
Detroit’s Special Place in His Heart
Ginuwine said what makes Detroit great for him is, “Y’all are real loud. Detroit natives are just so appreciative. Detroit reminds me of London because they come out and they give so much support. You scream. You give love, no problems. So, I don’t know what it is, but I know that because I have been here, I’ve been here for as long as I’ve been here. It’s because of Detroit’s love.”
Remembering Aaliyah
When asked about his relationship with the late Aaliyah, he said, “Her and I had a special relationship. I wrote the song ‘I Miss You,’ and unfortunately, it didn’t make the album when she was here, but it made the album when she was gone. I always give a dedication to her at my shows. You can expect that at the show, for sure.”
A Legacy in Music
Ginuwine credited his longevity to being part of a transformative era. “That was definitely an era in music that should and would not be forgotten. Timbaland actually changed music. I mean, I don’t think people give him enough praise for that. I’m just happy to be a part of it. That’s history.”
