Rum and dark liquor drinkers are in for a treat. Lil Wayne just dropped an exclusive “first look” to the new Bumbu rum line, Bumbu XO, that he’s an ambassador for.
Bumbu XO is a full-strength, 80 proof, 18-year aged rum from Panama that comes in a black matte bottle with a silver x gracing the front. Distilled and aged at a 120-year old Panamanian distillery, the small batch ultra premium rum incorporates local sugarcane and pure spring water. The drink has a 40 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) expression.
In 2018, Weezy appeared in Bumbu’s first marketing campaign where he referred to the rum as the “G.O.A.T.” (greatest of all time). Bumbu, an arm of the New York City-based Sovereign Brands company is the creator of the hit interview series “The Bumbu Room,” which features celebrities answering a myriad of questions from fans. The series commenced with the “Uproar” rapper’s interview, and has also featured interviews from others such as Dave East and Casanova.
Bumbu XO runs for $39.99 to $44.99, and can be found in bars, nightclubs, and retailers.
Lil Wayne isn’t the only star in partnership with a wine and spirits company. He’s among counterparts like his label mate, Nicki Minaj with Myx Moscato, R&B singer and Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood star K. Michelle with “Southern Peach” by Jack Daniels, and Rick Ross with Luc Belaire, which is also produced by Sovereign Brands.
Lil Wayne seems to be super busy these days following the long-awaited release of The Carter V. The New Orleans rapper also recently collaborated with UGG and Bape to promote a new line of gloves.
