Over the weekend, August Alsina released a new song, “Entanglements.”
As you might predict, the song is about his “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett-Smith. The song features Rick Ross who raps, “Shawty leanin’ on my shoulder got her questionin’ her willpower/Jaded by her beauty but her reputation real solid/Mornin down the hallway I can tell you how I feel about it/Caught up in the Matrix.” The last line was a likely reference to the fact that Smith co-starred in 2003’s Matrix Reloaded and 2003’s Matrix Revolutions
Alsina’s lines were also pretty pointed: “You left your man to f— with me just to pay him back/Don’t you know that’s cold-hearted.”
Later, he says, “Entanglement is when a man’ll lick you until you tremble. Saddest part is I still love you.”
Will Smith’s fans weren’t having it and didn’t like the disrespect that Will was receiving in the song. They took to Twitter to defend him.
All this comes after Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the situation on her Red Table Talk show after August revealed that they had a relationship although she is married to Will Smith.
