New Detroit Housing
We all remember Joe Louis Arena. It was built in 1979 along the riverfront and it was torn down back in 2019/2020. And when the city went bankrupt, they transferred the land over to the people that they owed money to. It seems that they have plans to develop the area. They’re going to build a high rise apartment building. It’s called the Residence at Water Square and it’s going to be 25 stories with 496 units, a pool and an outdoor sun deck. It’s going to be pretty fancy. If it sounds like you’d want to live, they are taking applications right now for pre-leasing starting in August and they said it’ll be move-in ready in February of next year. Check it out at watersquareresidences.com. It’s nice to see that area being built up over on the river front. That space has been so iconic for so many people in Detroit. It’s nice to see that it’s getting developed now.
Nicki vs. Lil Kim
Swizz Beatz is keeping hope alive for a possible Verzuz battle between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj! In a recent interview when he was asked about Kim vs Nicki, Swizz said, “I can’t say it here. I can’t say it. But just know that if you’re gonna wait this long for Verzuz, if we gonna have you wait this long, it’s gonna definitely be worth the time.” He’s working on it. I’m sure he is. And I’m looking forward to that personally. If it does happen, who do you got? I’m gonna go Lil Kim every time just because I love her.
Pras to Prison
Fugees rapper Pras has not only admitted in court that he was an informant for the FBI, but he has now been convicted in court yesterday. Pras has been found guilty of using illegally obtained money to get “closer” to former President Obama during his 2012 campaign and using millions more to “bankroll an expensive lifestyle”. So, basically, what I’m getting from the situation is that he took money from a foreign government official, like $20-million-dollars, in order to get this person in front of Obama to get a picture with him. Of course, it’s not just the picture they want. They want some face time with the President to be able to talk about things off the record. So, he was convicted of that and he could face up to 20 years in prison. How, of all the people, did Pras become the celebrity route for that type of deal? Pretty wild.
