First of all, as a breast cancer survivor myself, I know how important it is to spread awareness. So, this is your first of the month, friendly reminder to do your self-exams and schedule your mammograms! Here's a graphic of some things to look for when doing your self exam.

Motor City Makeover is an annual, citywide volunteer cleanup initiative. People and organizations from across the community come together to beautify the neighborhood. The parks, playgrounds, schools, businesses, everything like that. So, it's happening three Saturdays this month and they are looking for volunteers. Whether you're an individual or an organization, you do need to register in advance to get flowers and supplies and stuff from the city. You can do that at detroitmi.gov. Get involved if you can!

Well, there's a new series on Paramount that started last week called Family Legacy. It’s a brand-new music series that looks back at the most celebrated moments of legendary artists, from Diddy to NSYNC and more, but it's through the eyes of their kids. One of the episodes features Biggie's son and some of Diddy's kids. Hearing these stories from the kids I think is interesting. I always like to see behind the scenes stuff of how they really are.

Tupac's legacy continues to soar. The new FX series I've been telling you about, Dear Mama, has officially shattered a new record. The show chronicles the relationship between Tupac and his mother and it is now the most watched premiere episode for any unscripted series in FXs, 28-year history. It’s so cool that he still has an impact on society and that everybody's still interested in his legacy. It’s a shame he’s not here for it all.
