Some news and a few changes have come out about Detroit’s Movement Festival! Carl Cox, who was supposed to headline the event, has announced that he will be postponing his performance to 2026 due to “scheduling complications.” His much-anticipated new hybrid live show will have to wait for now, but don’t worry—he promises it will be worth the wait!
Cox shared his thoughts in a statement on Thursday (Feb. 20), saying, “I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I promise to make it worth the wait. When I return, I’ll bring my full live show experience, and it’s going to be epic!”
Meanwhile, Jeff Mills will join the lineup as a Day 1 headliner. Mills expressed his excitement, saying, “To be able to play in Detroit is and has always been a special kind of magic. Detroit is the place that understands the power of music and the value of a soulful and moving experience.”
This year, Movement’s 19th edition will still feature more than 100 incredible acts, including legends like Moodymann, Ricardo Villalobos, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Kevin Saunderson, DJ Gigola, Avalon Emerson, and salute. The festival takes place at Hart Plaza from May 24th through 26th.
Despite the change, it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend!
