City of Dearborn Park Improvements
As the hip hop hippie, I love to hear this. If you live in the city of Dearborn, they’re making huge improvements to your community. They have a historic $30 million investment in public parks and green infrastructure. They’re going to be installing three new parks. And the mayor said he hopes that residents that live in the will travel to other parts of the city if these parks are available to them. They’re also going to have free outdoor public wifi, play-scapes and upgrades to the pavilions. There were also be upgrades to Camp Dearborn, which is actually in Milford, but which the city has owned and operated. They’ll be putting in some pools and stuff there. I love to hear this kind of thing. Once it’s all developed, I’ll be going and checking it out for sure.
New Coolio Album
As we know, unfortunately, Coolio passed away last year. Well, his estate has announced that there we’re going to be getting another album from him. It’s going to be called Long Live Coolio and will actually be his first album in almost 15 years. The album will feature Treach from Naughty by Nature and there will be a single with Too Short called “Tag You’re It” that will drop tomorrow, Friday 03/17. Along with this album, Coolio had a lot of other things going on before he passed. He was finalizing a deal for residency in Las Vegas and he had a bunch of other major projects that he was working on at the time of his passing. Thankfully his music will live on.
Eminem in Spotify’s Billionaire Club for the 7th Time
Last week I mentioned that Detroit’s own Eminem is the first and only rapper to earn two Diamond Certified albums. Well, now another one of his songs has joined the Billionaires Club on Spotify, which is songs with a billion streams. This is his seventh song to do that. The latest to reach that milestone is “Mockingbird” from the Encore album. The song was like a love letter to his daughter, talking about all of his mistakes in life and stuff. So, congratulations to him!
