Santos Escobar On Working With Rey Mysterio & Reforming the LWO
Santos Escobar is a 23 year veteran in wrestling, but is a rising star in the WWE, having signed there in 2019 and come up in the ranks through NXT, the companies developmental territory. He recently reformed the Latino World Order (LWO) with legendary wrestler Rey Mysterio alongside Zelina Vega, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro. I got the opportunity to catch up with Escobar to talk about SummerSlam coming to Detroit, working with a legend like Rey Mysterio, reforming the LWO and more!
Santos Escobar: Well, first of all, Mean Jean, thank you so much for having me. I cherish this opportunities to have this one-on-one and, and to have my audience in my WWE universe here directly from me and my opinions, my life, where I come from, what I’m about, and yes, just like you said,
And I just tweeted this yesterday cause, you know, WWE uh, schedule is pretty intense. And we’ve been on the road, for three weeks now. Up until yesterday. And I was, uh, this weekend was a, a magical weekend for me and I tweeted this yesterday. One of the most amazing weekends in my career, since working with my dad, together with my dad.
Almost 20 years ago, and I hadn’t had this feeling of happiness and just joy working this weekend with Rey Mysterio. There’s a lot of respect, admiration there, and I’m just, I’m just glad and I’m very, very, uh, motivated. Uh, for being part of the LWO and just, just being with him in the ring, uh, is just, it’s magical.
The most amazing weekend in my career since working with my dad over 20 years ago… GRACIAS @reymysterio #ARRE 👊🏽☠️❤️🔥 pic.twitter.com/VgIaCHCKG3

Mean Jean: Yeah, yeah. I mean, that’s a great word to describe. It is, is magical. Especially because, you know, um, you, know, as growing up as a wrestler, I’m sure you watched Rey Mysterio on TV and you probably got to a point where you’re like, oh man, like he’s probably gonna be retired by the time I’m hitting my peak.
And right now he still seems like he can go for another 10 years. You know what I mean? So that’s gotta be like good motivation for you to kind of wanna push forward and do it bigger and better, right?
