Mountain Dew makes Marketing Mistake on Bottle And Michigan Isn’t Happy
Mountain Dew is apologizing to angry Michigan residents after the company mistakenly placed the Upper Peninsula as part of Wisconsin in some marketing materials…
Wednesday night on twitter, the company told the @UpperPeninsula account that it will create a special edition label specially dedicated to the U.P. an apology for the mistake.
Hey, Upper Peninsula: we hear you, and we’re sorry for misplacing you on our #DEWnited map. Give us a chance to right our wrong. Help us fill this special edition label by telling us all of the things you love about the Upper Peninsula (note to self: located in MICHIGAN) pic.twitter.com/cSzJQYc2tl

Mountain Dew asked the account to help tell them about all the things that make the U.P. so great.
People Immediately began leaving suggestions.
The U.P. Twitter account dared the company to make a label specifically for the Upper Peninsula and shortly after Mountain Dew gave their response.
The mistake was noticed in a video and images of marketing materials related to the company’s latest pop promotion and spread across the internet Tuesday.
Although Mountain Dew has an ongoing promotion going on they have not said if there will be any sort of prize related to the U.P. label, or if it will even be part of the contest or be released to the public.
It will be interesting to see how people react to the special edition label once it’s made.
