THE GOOD NEWS: A Furniture Store Keeps People Warm, and a Nurse Tells Her Dad She’s Cancer-Free
Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .
1. The owner of a store in Houston called Gallery Furniture is letting people stay overnight to get out of the cold. He goes by the name “Mattress Mack,” and he’s known for this kind of thing. He also used his stores as shelters after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. And the same year, he served Thanksgiving to 5,000 people.
2. A preschool teacher in Missouri named Robin Mach recently donated a kidney to a five-year-old student. The kid’s mom says she’s so generous, she wanted to help more. And right after the surgery, she asked what else she could do . . . like maybe their laundry or something.
3. A guy in Toronto built a massive snowman just to entertain his daughter. He does it every year, and they get bigger and bigger. This one is around 14 feet tall.
4. A nurse in North Carolina is going viral after sharing some good news with her dad. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma about a year-and-a-half ago, and found out last week that she’s now cancer-free.
She told her dad on Valentine’s Day, but wanted to have fun with it. So she made him put headphones on, and recorded him while he tried to read her lips. And when he realized she was saying “cancer-free,” he FREAKED out.
